The EMBS is undertaking a search for an Editor-in-Chief for its journal that publishes papers dealing with neural systems, neural engineering, rehabilitation engineering and assistive technology.

The Editor position is for a three-year term and is renewable for an additional three years. The term of appointment would start January 2024. At the time of appointment, the successful applicant must become a member of IEEE-EMBS.

The Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society invites nominations for the 2023 EMBS Society Awards. These well-established awards recognize outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of Biomedical Engineering including:  Academic Career Achievement Award, Professional Career Achievement Award, Early Career Achievement Award, Distinguished Service Award, Technical Achievement Awards and The William J. Morlock Award. The IEEE EMBS Award for Excellence in Biomedical Technology. The nomination deadline is 3 April 2023. Award Recipients will be announced in May and the awards will be presented at EMBC23.

The Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society is currently accepting nominations for the 2023 EMBS Regional Chapter Awards. The purpose of these awards is to is promote geographic diversity within the Society and to provide recognition to Chapters. New this year, as many as 12 Chapters may receive the 2023 Best Chapter Award. A Best EMBS Chapter and Best EMBS Student Chapter/Club will be chosen for each of the five EMBS Regions. An overall Best Chapter and an overall Best Student Chapter/Club will be selected from amongst these regional winners! This new format will provide an opportunity for more Chapter recognition and engagement than ever before. 

NER workshop day includes 5 topics to be presented and discussed with the speakers. Topics include: Enabling Neurotechnology Translation (Full Day), BCI: State of the Art and Art of the Possible (Half Day), Clinical Safety in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) with Neural Implants (Half Day), Machine-Brain Interfaces: Improving the Human and Machine Interactions (Half Day) and New Vistas on Brain Implants by Multi-Omics (Half Day).

IEEE-EMBS Conference on Healthcare Innovation and Point-of-Care Technologies (IEEE HI-POCT 2023) co-located with the IEEE-EMBS International Conference on Body Sensor Networks: Sensor and Systems for Digital Health (IEEE BSN 2023) for the first-time ever! The IEEE-EMBS International Conference on Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI), sponsored by the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (IEEEEMBS), is EMBS’s primary technical conference on informatics and computing in healthcare and life sciences. BHI 2023 will take place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 15-18 October 2023.
