Artificial Intelligence Enabled Radio Propagation for Communications

[ Image ] [[https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/Xplore/home.jsp]]

In this two-part article the application of AI and, in particular, machine learning (ML) to the study of wireless propagation channels is investigated. In Part I, AI and ML are introduced and a comprehensive survey on ML-enabled channel characterization and antenna-channel optimization is provided. In Part II, the state-of-the-art literature on scenario identification and channel modeling is reviewed. A discussion of challenges and future research directions for ML-enabled next-generation networks of the topics covered rounds off the article.
