2026 IEEE PES/IAS Fellow Profile Story: Emmanuel Agamloh

Black History Month is recognized annually throughout February, highlighting the contributions and achievements of African Americans throughout history.

IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) would like to spotlight Emmanuel Agamloh, an IEEE PES member, IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) member, and member of the IEEE Fellow Class of 2026, for contributions to electric motor test procedures and efficiency standards. Today, Emmanuel works as an Associate Professor at Baylor University. He has dedicated his career to both advancing research in the power and energy industry and serving as a mentor and voice of support to his students.

In 2025, the IEEE Industry Applications Society partnered with EPICS in IEEE to fund 11 global projects addressing critical community challenges. With over US$60,000 in funding and mentorship from IAS members, these initiatives engaged 518 students across 7 countries and 9 IEEE Sections. Together, EPICS in IEEE and IAS are driving sustainable solutions and empowering future innovators!

IEEE Industry Applications Magazine – Digital Edition!

The IEEE IAS Board has approved the addition of a NEW Digital Edition of IEEE Industry Applications Magazine. Beginning with this issue of the monthly IAS e-Newsletter, the Magazine Digital Edition will be available from a link at the end of every e-Newsletter issue. IAS members previously had access via a “Get Entire Issue Now” link from IEEE Xplore, but this was just a static flat PDF. The NEW Digital Edition includes navigation to selected articles from a Table of Contents Sidebar, a page turning feature, Zoom and download of individual articles, email authentication, access to back issues from the Home page and much more. We hope you test-drive the new Magazine Digital Edition.

Join the IEEE Transportation Electrification Council (TEC)

As a member of the IEEE Industry Applications Society, there is no fee to join the council.

TEC focuses on technologies, organizations and projects that enable the clean, connected and efficient transportation and vehicular systems of the future. Discussions include electric and hybrid cars and trucks, more-electric aircraft, electric rail and light rail systems, electric ships, off-road vehicles, grid interfaces and other forms of more-electric transportation.

The Council discusses key enabling technologies, including batteries and energy storage, battery charging and management, power electronics, electric motors and drives, networked vehicles, fuel cells, wireless power transfer, and system integration. The Council takes a leadership role in vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and grid interaction issues, IEEE standards in transportation and vehicles, high-performance electric traction, student electric transportation competitions, and vehicle intelligence.
