Abstract: Over the years many studies have shown that diversity of thought is essential for innovation with data clearly highlighting the strong correlation between increased diversity and organizational performance. As a result, organizations are increasingly focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in their workplaces. This panel will discuss some perspectives on how an emphasis on DEI in workforce development leads to significant benefits and positive outcomes in organizations. Perspectives on why a commitment to DEI is so important for companies of all sizes will be featured, as well as the business case for implementing DEI. The panelists will also discuss some of the ways in which industry can create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture.
