A Grid-Connected Converter Configuration for the Synergy of Battery-Supercapacitor Hybrid Storage and Renewable Energy Resources

Supercapacitors can help develop uniquely new families of extra low-frequency power converters and protection circuits, identified as Supercapacitor Assisted (SCA) techniques. This presentation summarizes these SCA techniques, and compares them with traditional power electronic building blocks.
