IES Nov 2022 8 Robot.png

In this awarded paper, the author and his collaborators revealed that fast and dynamic object manipulation with force control can be obtained by bilateral control-based imitation learning. A method to implement it in velocity-controlled robots is proposed and experimentally verified by a mopping task.

This awarded article provides an in-depth perspective on the efforts being made to achieve zero-emission transportation, focusing particularly on the developments of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and charging standards during the last decade.

By Benjamin Gaussens & Martino Bailoni (DuPont, France) and Shafigh Nategh (Polestar, Sweden) – 14 September 2022

During this webinar, DuPont technical experts and Polestar electric machine designers introduced challenges and several different insulation methods and materials that can assist designers in making the proper insulation selection for each motor type.

By Michael Short (Teesside University, Middlesbrough, UK) – 15 September 2022

Approximately 95% of UK international trade is transported via sea ports, and in recent years has accounted for roughly 20% of the UK's total domestic GHG emissions. This webinar outlined applied, collaborative research initiatives in the UK to explore port decarbonisation, including deployment of disruptive emissions reducing digital technology and asset electrification.
