IEEE-IES Technical Committee on Motion Control (TCMC) works with cutting-edge developments and applications of the motion control theory and technologies. Motion control is in the core of multiple industrial, service, and transportation products and applications. And wherever an actuated motion takes place in machines, mechanisms, and components, either an accurate and well-adjustable motion or force tracking, or even a combination of both, are demanded from the control systems.

The TC aims at promoting initiatives in all areas of motion control, with a greater attention to the following themes: High precision/high performance motion control systems, Telerobotics and haptics Identification in motion control, Control of MEMS, Motion control for mobility, Legged systems, Man-machine interaction.

TCMC is traditionally active and leading in organizing the AMC and ICM conference series of IEEE-IES. We always involve the next-generation and early-stage researchers and welcome new contributing experts working with the motion control.

FEATURED TECHNICAL ARTICLES

In this article, a complete interoperability test is performed for the UGA and each of the vehicle assemblies presented in the SAE J2954 document. A new multicoil ground assembly (MCGA) is proposed to reduce the leakage flux. The MCGA can decrease the flux levels by over 25% while enabling interoperable operation with all of the proposed vehicle assemblies.

UPCOMING IES WEBINARS

Wednesday, 14 September 2022 at 2:00 PM CEST, 9:00 AM EST

By Benjamin Gaussens & Martino Bailoni (DuPont, France) and Shafigh Nategh (Polestar, Sweden)

During this webinar, DuPont technical experts and Polestar electric machine designers will introduce challenges and several different insulation methods and materials that can assist designers in making the proper insulation selection for each motor type.

Thursday, 15 September 2022 at 1:00PM BST, 2:00 PM CET, 9:00 AM EST

By Michael Short (Teesside University, Middlesbrough, UK)

Approximately 95% of UK international trade is transported via sea ports, and in recent years has accounted for roughly 20% of the UK's total domestic GHG emissions. This webinar will outline applied, collaborative research initiatives in the UK to explore port decarbonisation, including deployment of disruptive emissions reducing digital technology and asset electrification.
