This paper rethinks the technical route of plant-wide process monitoring and highlights the alternative research route where the construction of performance evaluation systems and the development of performance-oriented fault diagnosis approaches play the central role. The key research questions, the future research directions, and an outlook about the future vision of “Plant-Wide Process Monitoring” are discussed in this roadmap paper.

This paper proposes a harmonic state space (HSS) modeling framework for dual active bridge (DAB) that overcomes the harmonics modeling limitation in common large signal models and accurately models both the AC and DC states depending on the inclusion of the number of harmonics in it. This modeling framework presents a straightforward approach and has a definite structure, which presents flexibility and ease in deriving the input-output relationship.

In this talk, the effects of impulse and high frequency pulse width modulation (PWM) voltages produced by fast-switching power electronic converters on voltage distributions in machine winding and insulation systems are analyzed and characterized. Lifetime test results under partial discharges caused by high voltage slew rate is also highlighted.
