The aim of the IEEE IES Technical Committee on Transportation Electrification (TCTE) is to bring together researchers from the industry, government, and academia under the common theme of automotive technology (transportation electrification). Other committees also study major aspects of automotive technology, however, there exists no single committee addressing all issues in one place. There are many facets to the technology, which include electric/plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (EVs/PHEVs), advanced energy storage systems, plugged/wireless charging infrastructures, power electronics, motor drives, fuel cells, and integration with renewable energy/smart grid.
