Holmdel, New Jersey is the home of the World's Largest Transistor?

The 60-ft tall water tower modeled after the design of an early transistor is located on the former Bell Labs property, which was transformed a few years ago into Bell Works, a mixed-use business/retail/residential venture. Also on the Bell Works property is the Jansky Monument, a sculpture in tribute to the "Father of Radio Astronomy" Karl Jansky.

Nearby in Holmdel Township is the Holmdel Horn, the microwave antenna used to detect the cosmic microwave background radiation providing evidence of the "Big Bang." Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1988, and a historic physics site by the American Physical Society.
