"Women-to-Women Tech Ideas Dedicated to Women" Competition

The year 2022 will mark the 25th anniversary of IEEE Women in Engineering. As part of the celebration, IEEE will have a competition for innovative ideas to address specific women issues. Proposals are sought on the following areas:
  • Smart childcare and education
  • Elderly communication and senior safe living
  • Medicine, mental health aid, and security for women
  • Sustainable environment solutions in rural and urban areas
The submitted ideas will be evaluated by a panel formed by women scientists.
The deadline for the submission is 25 December 2021.

Ideas will be presented during an "Around the World 25th Anniversary-day" Virtual event. Winners will be invited to present their ideas in a dedicated session at the 2022 International Leadership Conference in San Diego in June 2022.

IEEE EDS STEM Program: Electronics in Coding and Robotics

In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), there is a need to educate pre-university kids on the fundamentals of electron devices in frontier areas such as Coding and Robotics. The EDS-ETC: DIY Robotics program is now featured in the IEEE TryEngineering portal, as "Electronics in Coding and Robotics."

A series of workshops including train-the-trainers, student workshops, student competitions and STEM awareness programs were held by EDS Chapters in Malaysia. The program was divided into several online sessions, and prior to events YouTube videos were provided to all trainers and participants. The videos outlined the step-by-step method to assemble the kits and execute the projects.

Thanks to EDS member, Dr. P. Susthitha Menon for leading this initiative!
