EMBS Launches New Career Resource Center

EMBS Career Center is a comprehensive platform for job seekers and employers. EMBS members can log in using their single sign-on and access various job listings. You can apply for jobs, upload your resume, create a job profile, and even designate yourself as an EMBS member to enhance your visibility to employers.

EMBS will be hosting in-person and virtual career fairs, with the first scheduled for 16 July at our annual conference in Orlando, Florida.

Natalie Mrachacz-Kersting 

Dr. Erika Ross Ellison was appointed society's president-elect for the 2025 term. In addition, Drs. Beena Ahmed and Natalie Mrachacz-Kersting were elected vice president of Conferences and vice president of Member and Student Activities, respectively. Their two-year terms will also commence in 2025, when Paul Sajda, Ph.D. president of IEEE EMBS, will serve as past president, and Metin Akay, current past president, will serve as an ambassador.

Mike Hess

Biomedical Technology Veteran Mike Hess Joins IEEE Pulse as Editor-in-Chief

IEEE Pulse names Mike Hess as its next editor-in-chief in fulfillment of a mission to increase public awareness about healthcare innovations and entrepreneurship. Mr. Hess is an adjunct professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota. Earlier in 2023, he retired as vice president of Corporate Technology and Innovation at Medtronic — a medical device company he had been with for over 32 years.

EMBC 2024 Young Professional Paper Competition presented by the EMBS Young Professional Committee

Eligibility

The corresponding author must be a Young Professional (they must have reached their first post-secondary degree (e.g., bachelor’s level or an associate’s degree within the past 15 years and are not currently a student or a graduate student.


Only full paper (4+ pages) submissions at EMBC 2024 are eligible.


Three overall winners of the YP Paper Competition will receive an engraved plaque and an honorarium.
