The IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine (APM) is a bimonthly magazine (Impact Factor: 4.2) that publishes feature articles and columns that describe engineering activities taking place in industry, government, and universities, in the field of interest of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S). Emphasis is placed on providing the reader with a general understanding of either a particular subject or of the technical challenges being addressed by various organizations, as well as their capabilities to cope with these challenges. Review, tutorial, and historical articles are welcome, as are articles describing examples of good engineering.
Highlights of the magazine include its hybrid Open Access option, digital edition, and well-received special issues and series including a recent series celebrating the 75th anniversary of AP-S.
Responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief:
The Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of APM is responsible for implementing the publication program defined by the AP-S’s Administrative Committee (AdCom). This includes overseeing the entire publication process of the magazine from assignment of in-scope papers to editors all the way through to writing editorials and choosing cover images for each issue as well as long-term planning for APM in collaboration with the editorial assistant, the editorial board, and IEEE publications staff. The EiC is expected to give detailed reports on the status of APM typically at two of three annual AdCom meetings.
An ideal candidate should have past editorial experience, preferably as Track, Associate, and/or Guest Editor of leading IEEE journals or equivalent, and volunteering experience within the professional technical community, for example, within AP-S standing committees or other IEEE and similar organizations.
