As part of the Legends of Electromagnetics series, the interview celebrates the remarkable careers and lasting contributions of leaders who have helped shape the antennas and propagation field.

Join us in August for the next IEEE AP-S Distinguished Lecturer Webinar featuring Professor Qammer Abbasi. His presentation, “Integrated Sensing, Communication and Computing for Cognitive Cities,” will explore emerging technologies shaping the future of intelligent wireless networks and connected cities.

The Fellowship Program is designed to help emerging researchers advance innovative projects while supporting their professional growth within the global AP-S community. We encourage eligible students and postdoctoral researchers from around the world to apply and take the next step in advancing their research and careers through IEEE AP-S. Selected recipients may receive up to US$5,000 in direct research support.

AP-S Distinguished Lecturers for 2027 –2029 is now open. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged. In addition to the conventional Distinguished Lecturer positions, one DL position will be awarded to a person who has demonstrated successful entrepreneurship or exceptional contributions towards commercialization in an antenna or propagation related field and has given related presentations to engage with others.

Congratulations to the Winners of the 2026 IEEE AP-S Industry Competitions!

The IEEE AP-S Maria Stuchly Award in Bio-electromagnetics is a new annual Field Award recognizing individuals or groups whose careers have made outstanding contributions to bio-electromagnetics through advances in science, engineering, and technology that benefit humanity.

Named in honor of Prof. Maria Stuchly (1942–2022), an IEEE Fellow and pioneer in bio-electromagnetics, the award celebrates her lasting legacy of scientific excellence, leadership, and mentorship. Her influential research and contributions to international safety standards helped shape the field and continue to inspire future generations.

Upcoming Conferences

On 11–12 July 2026, our Administrative Committee met in Detroit, Michigan, for its mid-year AdCom meeting, where Society leaders collaborated on future directions, technical activities, and upcoming initiatives. The meeting was followed by the 2026 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting.

IEEE Senior Member is the highest grade of membership available through application, recognizing professional maturity and significant contributions to the field. Eligible candidates typically have at least 10 years of professional experience with demonstrated impact over at least five years.

Members may self-nominate or be nominated. Senior Member status also offers professional recognition, leadership opportunities within IEEE, and the ability to support others as a reference or reviewer.
