IEEE Std 145-2025 Published

The revision of IEEE Std 145-2025 IEEE Standard for Definitions of Terms for Antennas has been published. Developed by the IEEE Antennas & Propagation Standards Committee (APS/SC), this standard establishes definitions of terms for antennas and for systems that incorporate an antenna as a component of the system. It is intended to provide a set of standard definitions for the community so that when terminology is used, all will understand its meaning. The standard is complementary to IEEE Std 211-2018 IEEE Standard Definitions of Terms for Radio Wave Propagation, which provides terms and definitions used in the context of electromagnetic wave propagation relating to the fields of telecommunications, sensing, astronomy, optical waves, plasma waves, the ionosphere, the magnetosphere, and magnetohydrodynamic, acoustic, and electrostatic waves.

IEEE Response Quest™ Challenge

The IEEE Response Quest™ Challenge is officially open with the chance to win!

We are looking for visionary individuals and teams led by IEEE members to help those in need by enabling emergency and relief workers to make more informed decisions during emergencies.

When a crisis occurs, it can be hard for responders on site to navigate these complex scenes to help those in need. The challenge is to find new solutions by working with contributions from data science, GIS, emergency management, software engineering, and others.
