Join us for two upcoming webinars in the IEEE AP-S Distinguished Lecturer Series featuring leading experts in antennas and propagation. On Thursday, 11 June 2026, Prof. Richard W. Ziolkowski (The University of Arizona) will present “Multipole Engineering: A Practical Approach to Compact, High Directivity Antennas”. Later in the month, on Friday, 26 June 2026, Dr. Satish Kumar Sharma (San Diego State University) will present “Design and Development of Flat Panel Phased Array Antennas for Wireless and Satellite Communication Applications”.

We’re thrilled to celebrate the outstanding individuals whose work has made a lasting impact on electromagnetics, antennas, and microwave technologies. These leaders and innovators inspire the next generation of engineers, advance technology, and contribute to society in meaningful ways.

We are excited to recognize this talented group of 35 undergraduate students from institutions around the world who have been awarded the 2026 USRS to pursue 16-week research projects in antennas, propagation, and electromagnetics.

This Competition recognizes outstanding work focused on practical innovation in antenna and electromagnetic systems. Finalists represent a strong connection to industry, with at least one author affiliated with a corporation or private company, often in collaboration with academic or government partners.

This competition highlights innovative, industry-driven ideas that bridge research and real-world impact in antennas and propagation. Finalists will present scalable concepts with strong potential for commercialization, market adoption, and societal benefit.

This grant honors the legacy of Professor Leopold B. Felsen, a pioneer in modern electromagnetics, and recognizes promising young researchers conducting fundamental work in electromagnetics. The 2026 recipient, Prof. Xuezhi Zheng of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, is recognized for his contributions to computational electromagnetics and mesoscopic CEM, with research supporting advanced nanophotonics and optical technologies. His work has been published in numerous leading IEEE and multidisciplinary journals and adopted by internationally recognized research laboratories.

As part of the Opening Ceremony on 13 July 2026, we will host a special plenary session featuring leading voices from industry on the future of AI-driven engineering and design.

Sponsored by the IEEE AP-S Industrial Initiative Committee, this two-hour session brings together senior leaders from engineering software and consumer electronics to share insights across antennas, electromagnetics, microwaves, and propagation.

We're excited to announce the 2026 call for proposals for the Educational Initiatives Program (EIP). This program supports innovative projects that enhance education in electromagnetics, propagation, and antennas. 

Two Tracks Available:

General Educational Initiatives – Funding typically US$500–US$5,000 (up to 2 yrs)

Educational Videos/Materials – Funding typically US$500–US$2,500 (up to 1 yr)

Upcoming Conferences

IEEE Senior Member is the highest grade of membership available through application, recognizing professional maturity and significant contributions to the field. Eligible candidates typically have at least 10 years of professional experience with demonstrated impact over at least five years.

Members may self-nominate or be nominated. Senior Member status also offers professional recognition, leadership opportunities within IEEE, and the ability to support others as a reference or reviewer.

AP-S Distinguished Lecturers for 2027 –2029 is now open. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged. In addition to the conventional Distinguished Lecturer positions, one DL position will be awarded to a person who has demonstrated successful entrepreneurship or exceptional contributions towards commercialization in an antenna or propagation related field and has given related presentations to engage with others.

The IEEE Response Quest™ Challenge is officially open with the chance to win!

We are looking for visionary individuals and teams led by IEEE members to help those in need by enabling emergency and relief workers to make more informed decisions during emergencies.

When a crisis occurs, it can be hard for responders on site to navigate these complex scenes to help those in need. The challenge is to find new solutions by working with contributions from data science, GIS, emergency management, software engineering, and others.
