OJAP Special Sections — Call for Papers

The IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation (OJAP) invites researchers to submit to upcoming Special Sections focused on timely and emerging topics across the AP-S field of interest. These curated collections, led by expert Guest Editors, provide an opportunity to showcase in-depth research to the global antennas and propagation community.

Waves of Support: Empowering Tomorrow’s Innovators Today

This February, we're celebrating IEEE Foundation Day by spotlighting the IEEE AP-S Talent Development Fund. This fund supports students and young professionals through travel grants, fellowships, educational programs, and more. Donations are matched dollar-for-dollar by IEEE, doubling the impact on the next generation of antennas and propagation leaders.

AP-S President Dr. C.J. Reddy has been a key champion of this effort, helping establish the Fund and the C.J. Reddy Travel Grant for Graduate Students to expand student access to the AP-S/URSI Symposium.

The IEEE Fellow nomination process continues to evolve, and AP-S members play a vital role in recognizing future leaders. If you’re preparing a nomination or planning ahead, this resource outlines contribution categories, requirements, and reference expectations.

The Fellow Portal is now open to accept nominations for the IEEE Fellow Class of 2027.

Nomination Deadline: 7 February 2026

Upcoming Conferences

Supports MS and PhD students in electrical engineering or related fields who are first authors of an accepted AP-S Symposium paper and endorsed by a faculty advisor. Intended to offset travel and participation costs for the IEEE AP-S/URSI Symposium. IEEE AP-S student membership required. Award: US$1,500

Application Deadline: 15 February 2026

Supports MS or PhD students in electrical engineering or related fields who are first authors of an accepted AP-S Symposium paper and endorsed by a faculty advisor. Intended to offset travel costs for attending the IEEE AP-S Symposium (conference registration not included). IEEE AP-S student membership required. Award: US$1,500

Application Deadline: 15 February 2026

Supports IEEE Young Professionals in industry attending the IEEE AP-S/URSI Symposium who will actively contribute to technical, industrial, or outreach activities. First-time recipients only. Award: Up to US$2,000

Application Deadline: 15 February 2026

Supports individuals demonstrating high research potential who may not otherwise attend the IEEE AP-S Symposium. Open to all; IEEE membership not required. Applicants must have a paper accepted for presentation and personally present it at the Symposium. Award: US$1,000

Application Deadline: 15 March 2026

Promotes women in AP-S by supporting scientists, students (Master/PhD), and engineers in industry with ≤10 years post-PhD or industry experience. Applicants must be first authors and presenters of accepted Symposium papers. Grants awarded with global representation across continents. Award: US$1,500 + Symposium registration and banquet
