As we look forward to 2026, we wanted this month’s newsletter to simply provide a quick recap of key points, actions, and resources from the year’s previous five newsletters. Reminder: you can view past issues of IEEE Chapter Connections at any time.

Connect Your Chapter Officers and Stay Current in Your Reporting
|
- Submit new officers or officer changes via the vTools Officer Reporting tool so they receive important communications and resources. Many officers end their term on 31 December 2025. Please be sure to report new officers before 1 January 2026, to ensure continuity.
- Submit your 2025 Chapter meeting activity via vTools Events to qualify for the Geographic Unit Rebate, and start scheduling your 2026 activities.

Find Support and Training Resources
|

Receive Recognition and Provide Feedback
|
- Download your Volunteer Recognition digital certificate from IEEE Collabratec®, via the “Certificates” link on your Member console.
- Submit your Chapter to be spotlighted in a future newsletter (to [email protected]).
- Submit your best practices via the Best Practices submission form.
- Share the challenges you face with Chapter management, membership, and engagement, and identify what types of resources would help you with these efforts going forward (to [email protected]).

Get Ideas for Engagement, Outreach, and Activities
|
- Organize impactful events for your Chapter members to engage, educate, and inspire. Consider a:
- Check the IEEE Rosters for Student Branch Chapters in your area and reach out to see how you can support their activities. And/or form new Student Branch Chapters if they don’t currently exist.

|
- Reach out to your Section officers and volunteers from other Chapters and Affinity Groups in your Section (e.g., Young Professionals, Women in Engineering, Life Members), as well as in neighboring Sections, and in other parts of the world, to work together on your events. Working together can provide valuable opportunities to expand your outreach and impact, and also ease your workload.
- Use the IEEE Volunteering platform to find additional volunteers to assist with your activities.
- Leverage available IEEE Social Media resources, including editable social media post templates.
- Continue to encourage renewals and new members - promote IEEE membership and encourage existing and new IEEE members in your Chapter's technical area to join your Society (and therefore your Chapter)!
