Have you ever wondered how IEEE impacts Accreditation? Most people understand that certain institutions are “accredited”, but how does that happen? What are the contributions that IEEE volunteers make in bringing this to Engineering and Engineering Technology Programs across the globe?

Join us for the remaining sessions in this exciting series that delves into the behind-the-scenes experiences from current IEEE/ABET Program Evaluators, Global Accreditation Experts, and the ABET connection.

Segment One featured the IEEE Program Evaluators (PEVs) preparation process for a University visit. Ece Yaprak, Division Chair and Professor, Engineering Technology, and April Cheung, Assistant Professor of Practice, shared their expertise and experiences in navigating through the exciting world of accreditation visits. Learn how the school you most likely attended (or will attend) obtained and retains their ABET “ACCREDITATION”!

Townhall Panel is On-Demand

The IEEE Education Society and IEEE Educational Activities co-sponsored an online Townhall on 3 August 2021. An international panel consisting of engineering educators discussed how the recent remote learning has changed pedagogical practices and how to best reconnect for in-person learning. This free event was intended for university faculty and practitioners. This virtual townhall titled “The Next Opportunity for Engineering Education: Redefining the Model” is now available on-demand.

Engineering Education 2.0 Series is On-Demand

The IEEE Education Society and IEEE Educational Activities co-sponsored a 2020-21 webinar series on Engineering Education 2.0: Research-Driven Instructional Design. This free four-part series was designed to equip participants with skills to apply best practices and understanding from current STEM higher-education research literature. Each session can be viewed alone or as part of the series and is intended for both new and experienced engineering educators. The presenter is IEEE Education Society member, and Vice President for Publications, Arnold Pears. The four sessions can be viewed On-Demand by clicking the links below.
