The AESS Fall 2019 Board of Governors meeting was held on October 18-19 in Cologne, Germany. Along with taking care of Society business, we said goodbye to the following Board members:

Shannon Blunt. Shannon was appointed to the board following Bill Walsh’s resignation from the board in 2018. He has served for two years and has chosen not to run again due to his work with the RADAR conference and the Radar Systems Panel.

Darin Dunham. Darin has served on the Board of Governors for three years, from 2017 to 2019, and this year he served as the VP for Industry Relations. He is involved with the Systems Magazine as the Book Review Editor. We thank Darin for his service.

Fredrik Gustafsson. Fredrik has served on the Board of Governors for three years, from 2017 to 2019. We thank him for his service and will miss having him on the board.

Bob Lyons. Bob has continuously been on the board since 2005, serving as the VP for Technical Operations in 2009, the Executive VP from 2010 to 2011, and then in 2014-2015 as President of the board. He has continued his service as both Jr. and Sr. Past President for the last four years. His leadership and wisdom will be greatly missed on the board.

Sean Malek. Sean has been the undergraduate student representative for the past two years. We thank Sean for bringing his unique perspective to the board, and wish him all the best for the future.

Jason Williams. Jason has served on the Board of Governors for three years, from 2017 to 2019. Jason has been instrumental in the work of the Short Course Committee and had heavy involvement in the International Radar Conference in Brisbane last year.

A special thank you goes to Joe Fabrizio, as he received his outgoing Presidency plaque. Joe welcomed the 2020 President, Walt Downing, by presenting him with his IEEE President's pin.
